Some wiki links on the disgraceful practice of US estate agents and Banks from the 50′s onward. ‘Redlining’ and ‘Blockbusting’ sought to control whole areas by purposefully depressing and inflating property prices and mortgage repayments along racial lines. In effect changing the ‘colour’ of certain areas in order to make a killing with house prices and then subjugate that areas residents with ‘sub-prime’ and toxic loans.
